About This Place

Nestled in the charming community of Lake Oswego, Babica Hen Cafe offers a delightful American dining experience focused on breakfast and brunch favorites that elevate the concept of comfort food. This cozy, inviting restaurant is a go-to destination for locals and visitors seeking a warm ambiance paired with an exceptional menu that artfully blends savory and sweet indulgences.

From the moment you step inside, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods envelops you, setting the tone for a memorable meal. Babica Hen Cafe’s signature dishes shine with creative flair and satisfying flavors — the Fried Chicken Waffle is an absolute must-try, marrying crispy, golden chicken breast with luscious sweet potato mousse and a subtle hint of coconut rum caramel that delights the palate. For those who appreciate classic decadence, the Vanilla Bread Pudding French Toast offers a luscious, custard-soaked experience, balancing sweetness and texture perfectly.

If your taste buds crave both savory and sweet, the Waffle Waffler lets you sample two different waffles, offering a playful way to enjoy contrasting flavors. Many guests rave about the Le Waffle Lyonnaise, a refined combination of Black Forest ham, a perfectly fried medium egg, fresh arugula, and rich hollandaise sauce — a sophisticated twist on brunch tradition. The menu also boasts popular all-day bakery items like the Cinnamon Roll and Sticky Bun, which are as comforting as they are indulgently sweet, a perfect companion to the carefully crafted cappuccino or the velvety hot chocolate.

The vibrant atmosphere is filled with warm earth tones and a lively buzz that enhances the communal dining experience. While it can get busy, especially on weekends, the cheerful and attentive staff ensure that every visit feels welcoming and well cared for. Guests appreciate the friendly service and the cozy vibe that encourages you to linger over conversation and savor every bite.

Families find Babica Hen Cafe particularly accommodating, with a thoughtfully designed kids menu featuring treats like the Chocolate Chip Waffle drizzled with real maple syrup and whipped butter. Those needing gluten-free options will be pleased to find excellent choices, such as their gluten-free waffles, which even non-gluten-sensitive guests rave about for their moist texture and rich flavor.

Patio seating during warmer months adds another layer of enjoyment, inviting diners to soak in the pleasant Oregon weather while enjoying their meals. Whether you’re in the mood for a comforting breakfast, an elegant brunch, or a lively gathering spot with friends over craft cocktails like the Espresso Martini or a Bloody Mary sampler, Babica Hen Cafe delivers an engaging, flavor-packed experience that leaves a lasting impression.

In summary, Babica Hen Cafe is more than just a breakfast restaurant — it’s a vibrant community hub where the art of brunch meets approachable sophistication. The consistently thoughtful preparation, welcoming atmosphere, and standout menu items ensure that whether you’re craving a sweet indulgence or a savory delight, you’ll leave feeling nourished, satisfied, and eager to return.

Nice sit down restaurant. Fairly noisy even with sound dampening in the ceiling but people seem very content with the wait and space. Staff are very friendly and the food was delicious. Highly recommend either a Bloody Mary or the Bloody Mary three small sampler. The burrito was delicious and added avocado.

The Waffle Waffler is the ultimate- who needs to choose between savory and a decadent treat- when you can have them both?? My favorite is the Lyonnaise option and the Berry option- my husband got the Fried Chicken option and the Banana option- see the menu and the photos to get more in-depth info. There are plenty of other great options as well. The mimosas and hot chocolate is good- I'm not a fan of their particular teas, but if you like a bit of rose in their version of an Earl Grey... you could be happy? You'll surely come something to love. This trip service was superb. I've been going their for years and previously it was 60/40- hoping it's trending towards how great it was today!

I love this place. It has a cozy vibe with warm colors throughout. Their food is always great and never disappoints. If you need a gluten-free option, their gf waffles are fantastic. I don't need a gluten-free option but they are that good. They also have good coffee drinks, which is important for a breakfast place.

Whoa, this place was super busy on Saturday, but really we only waited for 35 minutes. The food was great, but the eggs on the Benedict were too hard boiled. That's really the only issue that would have made it perfect. Due to the amount of people that was there, I could hardly complain about that issue.

"This is a fantastic spot for brunch, especially on weekends when it tends to be crowded. Please be prepared to wait approximately 35 to 45 minutes to secure a table during busy hours. It's a popular place known for its delicious menu and welcoming atmosphere. They have a patio for outdoor seating during summer.
